We use our EMP system as a tool to continue to track student communication beyond the enrollment process and throughout their life-cycle, especially in our non-trad and grad program. Because use extends beyond the normal time frame expected, we run into data integrity issues when the system of record changes from the EMP system to our SIS.
If we had the ability to restrict edit functions on certain fields and to set the parameters of those restrictions (date ranges, user permissions, order of operations, etc.), it would help alleviate some of the issues we experience by preventing staff from making changes after the system of record has been changed.
