We would like to track over a custom period of time (usually weekly or monthly) the number of touchpoints (often specific ones) that a user applies, not the number of students who have that touchpoint who are assigned to them (the way both groups and the User Activity report appear to function). I think their need is identical to many others and would make a great enhancement from the CRM angle--the number of students associated with certain people gives some insight in inferred workflow, but the actual counts of user activity to the detail that a group can permit (specific touchpoints, date ranges, etc) would be great.
